Anterior drooling is physiological until about 4 YEARS of age in a child without underlying disease; beyond that it is pathological and needs assessment of oral motor function, dentition, posture, nasal obstruction and any neurological disorder, with treatment progressing from oral motor therapy to anticholinergics (glycopyrrolate), botulinum toxin injection of the salivary glands and finally duct ligation or gland excision.
